If you are concerned that you have symptoms that might be arising from large airway problems or that your respiratory condition has been misdiagnosed, it is crucial to bring this up with your GP and ask for a referral to a chest doctor.

There are tests that can be done to confirm a diagnosis of asthma, and if they come up negative, then other causes for your breathing difficulties can be considered.

This is crucial because obtaining the correct diagnosis is important and once the cause of your breathing difficulties has been diagnosed there may be better treatments to help relieve symptoms. These may include anti-inflammatory medication, physiotherapy, and the use of special breathing machines which can open up the airways.

It is with great sadness that on the 3rd September 2017 Glen Swire passed away. We would like send our heartfelt condolences to his family at this time. Glen was a founding member of this charity and his support and contributions over the years have been invaluable.
